Born to American missionaries in Beirut, Lebanon, Karma J. Lhundup embarked on a second career after developing sensitivities to organic solvents as a print maker and finding acupuncture as a cure. Forced to abandon this first career and seek medical help, he discovered acupuncture and Qi Gong, a Chinese tradition of physical exercises and meditations designed to strengthen the internal organs of the body. Encouraged and fascinated by his rapid recovery with these tools, he enrolled in a master's degree program at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington, to study acupuncture. Karma went on to receive his Masters degree in acupuncture from the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NIOAM) in Seattle, Washington in 2001. After graduating and practicing for a couple years, Karma moved to Portland, Oregon, in 2003 to continue his practice and enroll in the Process Work Institute of Portland. Process work became the theoretical framework through which Karma created his first unique and innovative acupuncture therapy called Allostatic Adjustment Acupuncture - protocol, or 3A-p Therapy, a treatment focused on resetting the nervous system's balance after periods of high anxiety or extreme stress. Karma is a licensed acupuncturist in Washington and Oregon. | "I believe that we are in a new era of medicine that will change everything we know about health care. If you are the kind of person who understands that your symptoms are directly related to your self-expression and the larger context of your life, I have innovative health care solutions for you! Chronic symptoms often contain encoded information that can help you resolve them in a flash of insight, and even realize some of your deepest dreams in the process -- if you know how to unfold their meaning and follow their direction." -- Karma Lhundup |
